Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Lab Information Systems (LIS), Cardiology Information Systems (CIS) and Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) and Electronic Prescribing (DxScript™). The final result is the seamless integration of all daily medical practice needs of providers starting from a single practitioner to a 50+ physician practice, all the way up to hospital size requirements.
The fully integrated seamless applications were custom designed to work as stand-alone or in a modular format such that a medical practice may begin with a single application module and add applications as needed, and as the practice evolves.
Intent on integrating the disparate information systems and building a common database or patient record, NextGen initially began surveying the marketplace for an interface engine that could dynamically tie all these components together. What NextGen found, was that no product could provide such a service - and the pieces required to "patch" a solution together were too complex and costly to implement and manage in their existing formats. Leading interface engines could only interface on a one-to-one relationship, providing connectivity to only one type of RIS, PACS or HIS, thus limiting the ability to deliver a truly integrated solution.
Subsequently, joint efforts with leading Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records software development companies, RIS and PACS vendors, medical hardware/device suppliers and electronic claims processors have enabled NextGen to perfect its suite of productivity enhancing tools (Dx-Web™). NextGen clients now enjoy a competitive advantage in their marketplace, outperforming other practices, whose IT infrastructures don't allow them to meet their business objectives.
Benefits of an Integrated Health Solution from include:
-
Reduced operating costs
-
Efficiency gains from simplified workflow
-
Higher profit margins
-
Increased quality of patient care
-
Prevent errors in their daily prescribing
In 1998, NextGen finished its interface product, The NextGen e-Practice Gateway Server, and added modules to allow for a more unified and seamless information management solution. These products/services include:
-
The NextGen e-Data Engine, a data warehouse repository
-
The NextGen e-Secure Transaction Server, a secure, internet-enabled e-commerce engine used for submitting claims electronically and for giving secure access to patient data over the Internet
-
The NextGen e-Logic Web Server, a JAVA-enabled Web server which allows users to quickly access patient and practice data using any Web-browser.
-
The NextGen, ePrescribing module(DxScript™), a fully functional standalone application that may be seamlessly integrated into the suite of NextGen products
